THE ROAD BEGINS

From a military truck to a moving home, from a dream to a departure.

We’re husband and wife (Conrad and Steph), and two rescue dogs (Steve and Ralph) setting out from the UK in our self-built expedition truck — a project that began in 2020 and finally comes to life in Spring 2026. Our route? UK → Europe → Asia… and wherever the road decides to take us next.

This is our Overland Odyssey.

Thanks for joining us at the start of our adventure.

ABOUT US

We’re a pair of slightly stubborn, wildly curious humans who decided that life was too short to wait for “someday.” In 2020, we bought an ex‑military MAN HX60 and started turning it into a home on wheels. It took longer than we expected — six years of learning, building, rebuilding, and occasionally swearing at electrical diagrams — but we made it.

In November 2025, two rescue dogs joined our family and instantly became the heart of the adventure. Now, the four of us are finally rolling out.

Why we’re doing this:

• To see the world slowly

• To live simply and intentionally

• To share the reality of overland travel — not the polished version

• To prove that ordinary people can build extraordinary journeys

THE TRUCK

Our MAN HX60 started life in the UK Ministry of Defence. Today, she’s a self-built expedition vehicle designed for long-distance, off-grid travel.

Inside the build:

• A custom habitat designed and built by us - with help from some specialists when required!

• Systems engineered for remote travel and harsh climates

• A home that balances rugged capability with real comfort

We’ll share everything — the wins, the mistakes, the upgrades, and the things we’d absolutely do differently next time.

WHY WE’RE SHARING THIS

Because building something from scratch — a truck, a journey, a new life — is messy, emotional, and unbelievably rewarding. And if our story helps someone else take the first step toward their own adventure, then every scraped knuckle and sleepless night was worth it.
